In what was a hard-fought victory, Rodrigo’s second-half strike ensured we were crowned Champions of Europe for the first time in our history – while also securing the Treble.

Featuring fantastic never seen before behind the scenes footage, the video captures the emotions and ecstasy felt by players and fans alike as we claimed an iconic success in Istanbul.

After the first half ended goalless at Turkey’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium, the Spanish midfielder gave us the lead midway through the second 45 when the ball broke to him on the edge of the box and he fired home.

Simone Inzaghi’s side weren’t going down without a fight, though, and would have equalised had it not been for Ederson’s heroics when he amazingly saved Romelu Lukaku’s close range header on the cusp of full-time.

A nervy finish ensued, but we held on though and lifted the famous trophy for the first time in our illustrious 129-year history.

We’re resurfacing this today as we look ahead to our home clash with Inter at the Etihad as part of the 2024/25 competition.
