City had just claimed the victory needed at Brighton to seal a second successive Premier League crown, pipping Liverpool to the post in the process.
The hosts had taken an early lead but goals from Sergio Aguero, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan secured our 14th consecutive win.

Speaking to Club journalist Rob Pollard on the pitch at the Amex Stadium, Kompany reflected on the season as a whole, describing his latest title triumph as a personal favourite.
The skipper also looked ahead to the 2019 FA Cup final against Watford, which took place six days after we secured back-to-back league titles.
It was a game which lives long in the memory, with Kompany leading Pep Guardiola‘s men to a 6-0 triumph over the Hornets.
The victory equalled the record for the largest winning margin in the final and was the final piece of an historic domestic clean sweep for City.
It would also prove to be the Belgian’s final game at the Club, before moving into a player-coach role at Anderlecht.
