Walker, who returned to the team after a few weeks on the sidelines through injury, was disappointed to lose but paid tribute to the City fans, who backed the team all the way until the final whistle.
“I thought the fans were amazing, and everyone to show us the support that they did to us throughout the game was fantastic,” he said.
“They [fans] always do, as they always do [back the team]. We’ve gone right till the end in numerous years, where we’ve won Premier Leagues and stuff like that.
“So I think for City fans to never leave, because they’re always there and they always support us right until the end.
“Today was extra special and you could feel the support.”
The skipper also spoke about how the busy schedule is taking its toll on the team, touched on how the team gave it everything they had at the Vitality Stadium and looked ahead to Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Sporting CP.
