The Bury teenager has penned a new deal which sees him commit his future to the Club until the summer of 2028.
The 18-year-old was called upon 27 times across all competitions in 2022/23, often deployed in the full-back/midfielder hybrid role which he excelled in across our historic Treble winning season.
City boss Pep Guardiola referenced the importance of Lewis throughout the campaign with his competitiveness and determination to win silverware evident both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Those attributes have underscored Lewis’ City career since he first joined the Club at Under-9 level.
Lewis has gone from strength after making his Premier League debut last August.
One of his most memorable - and record breaking - moments came in his full Champions League debut where he scored his first senior goal in our 3-1 win over Sevilla at the Etihad.
After finding the target early in the second half, Lewis became the youngest player to score on their first Champions League start.
Now with his new contract at his boyhood club secured, Rico is set to go from strength to strength under Guardiola’s inspired leadership.
