This month, CITC spoke with Eduardo Monteiro, a Premier League Primary Stars coach who identified the need for a sensory room in a local primary school, Holy Name.
In the interview Eduardo discusses the process he and the school went through to source and build the sensory facility that participants within the school can now use.
He said: “The room can be used and is available to every child in the school.
“The idea is for the room to provide a calm place for students to break the stress they may have faced coming from home to school and start the day relaxed.”
Eduardo joined CITC in February 2023 and has been a key member of the Primary School’s team ever since.
CITC deliver the Premier League Primary Stars programme in schools across Greater Manchester.
During these sessions, pupils and teachers take part in national curriculum PE lessons, extra-curricular activities, targeted interventions, educations workshops, social action projects, anti-discrimination sessions, competitions and teacher CPD events.
