The Norwegian centre forward put City ahead by firing home from the penalty spot on 35 minutes after having been brought down in the box.

And Haaland then followed that up by superbly firing home from 15 yards on 65 minutes after being put through by Kevin De Bruyne.
With City also keeping a clean sheet, it all added up to fine opening day’s work for Pep Guardiola‘s defending title holders.
