Could City make it seven wins from seven?
The Blues travelled along the M6 to face a Wolves side who had won just once this season.
After a midweek loss at Newcastle, Pep Guardiola‘s side were expected to bounce back quickly.
But it was to be a day of frustration for the defending Premier League champions.
Pedro Neto’s cross was turned past Ederson by Ruben Dias in the first-half to give the home side the lead.
City struggled to create any clear-cut chances but kept plugging away until Julian Alvarez levelled with a superb free-kick just before the hour-mark.
However, it was Wolves who grabbed the third goal of the game when Hwang Hee-chan - who many felt should have been dismissed for a second bookable offence earlier in the game - prodded home from close range eight minutes later with what proved to be the winning goal.
