Pep Guardiola is confident his players can handle the pressure of what has been another thrilling climax to a Premier League campaign.

City require seven points from the three games that remain to guarantee being crowned champions of England for a fourth time in five years.

The City boss says the focus has been resting tired legs and minds in the past few days in preparation for another testing fixture away to Wolves.

“I think they handle it  (the pressure) really well, in the last few years they have shown many times, the Newcastle game had a lot of pressure,” said Guardiola.

“They know it. There’s not much to say right now. Recovery. I didn’t see the players today; we make another recovery because we don’t have time.

“We have 13 players, we haven’t practised anything, it’s just be fresh mentally and in the legs as much as possible for the battle that we have.

“They know exactly what they are playing for. It’s not like they are saying: ‘Oh if we win tomorrow, we are close to being champions, good idea’ they know it.

“It’s just how we attack and defend against a specific team like Wolves, let’s go.

“In these stages, it’s just about being fresh.

“The games against West Ham and Aston Villa, we have a  long week, after we can give days off and prepare a bit more but now, I don’t want to bother them the day of the game or before the game, we just tell them what to do tactically to try and beat them.”
