Alex Greenwood says games against Europe’s best in pre-season will help City hit the ground running this season.

We face French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Perth International Cup on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 10:10 (UK) and the match is live on mancity.com and our official app with an active CITY+ subscription.

With Champions League qualifiers and the start of the Barclays Women’s Super League to come in September, City need to be ready for some tough assignments.

Greenwood says that playing teams like Coupe de France winners and Champions League semi-finalists PSG will help us prepare for the competitive matches to come.

“It’s an exciting game and one to really look forward to,” she began.

“We’re going to test ourselves against one of the top teams in Europe and that’s what we want. In pre-season it’s important that we are ready to go into the season playing top opposition and we’ll get that on Sunday.

“Playing against teams in Europe provides you with a different test and thought process.

“They might change what they do in pre-season and then change again but as always, we focus on ourselves.

“The opposition will pose different threats on Sunday and that will be something that will be something that we have to manage and a great way to learn actually.”
