First half goals from Filippa Angeldahl and Lauren Hemp saw Gareth Taylor‘s side leapfrog the visitors into second position, extending our unbeaten league run to 14 in the process.
It was the perfect response to our FA Cup exit at the hands of Aston Villa last weekend, as City became the first team to keep a clean sheet against Chelsea in the WSL this season.
And Greenwood was delighted to see our game plan executed to perfection against Emma Hayes’ side as we responded to that setback in the best possible fasion.
“[It was] a massive win and performance,” she reflected.
“It was a great team performance from the girls who started and the ones off the bench, it took a whole squad effort.
“It’s been a tough week after last week, we went back to training, worked really hard and I could tell in the team going into this game that we were hungry to win.
“Everything we practiced, we put into play. We were outstanding today.”
