Andrée Jeglertz says City are in a really good place in the league after a run of fantastic results in the 2025/26 season so far.

The Blues will come up against the Toffees in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Sunday with kick-off at the Joie Stadium set for 12:00 (UK).

Last time out we secured our place in the Subway Women’s League Cup semi-finals with a 5-1 win at West Ham United.

Turning our attention back to the league, we will be looking to continue a fantastic run in the 2025/26 season by starting the year with a big result and cement our place at the summit of the table.

Meanwhile, Everton played out a 3-1 defeat in the Barclays Women’s Super League where they sit 10th.

“It’s very important that we talk about it and realise we’re in a great position because we deserved it,” Jeglertz said.

“I also said to the players: it’s one thing to get there, it’s harder to stay there. The work has to be to try to do things even better.

“Teams will throw more tactical flexibility and new things at us so we need to be even better than in autumn.

“I’d rather be here than six points behind somebody else. As long as we have the confidence of being a team that is leading as well as having the hunger of a chasing team. That’s an important part for us.”

The City boss made history this week as he was awarded his third WSL Manager of the Month award in a row, becoming the first Head Coach to achieve this.

“First of all we all need appreciation. We like that and it’s the same for me,” he said on the accolade.

“It shows that me and my colleagues and the whole staff are doing good things so that’s nice to be appreciated.

“It’s a prize for the whole staff, for everything we are doing every day.

“I can’t say enough how much I appreciate how hard they are working to give me the best circumstances so I can do my job and also for the players.

“The players also believe in my ideas and we’re able to do that in games.”
