The Blues’ 16-match unbeaten run came to an end of Wednesday evening at the Joie Stadium after a 1-0 defeat, despite dominating large spells of the contest.
But with a trip to Bromley on the horizon this Sunday, attentions have swiftly turned back to our WSL campaign, with City top of the table heading into the weekend.
And while our Head Coach admits he was disappointed not to reach the League Cup final in midweek, he says the players have reacted immediately to that setback.
“I don’t need to lift the mood amongst the players, they do that themselves,” Jeglertz said.
LONDON CITY LIONESSES v CITY: MATCH PREVIEW
“We know we are a very good team, we showed that on Wednesday, but we didn’t convert the chances.
“The mood is okay and there is disappointment but in general we are in a good spot. We know the qualities we have.
Sunday’s showdown represents a third tie in seven days for City, including two long trips to the south coast.
It’s a demanding period for the Blues, and Jeglertz has highlighted the key impact that players can make from the bench this weekend should they be called upon.
He added: “Yeah definitely, that will be crucial.
“With three games this week some players might struggle to last 90 minutes and the ones coming in can have a great impact on the game.
“We’ve seen it so many times this year, that the player that’s coming on has given an extra gear to the team.
“We coaches quite often say, everybody counts but we’ve shown it in our gameplan and contributions from the finishers.”
