City came into the tie nine points clear of the reigning WSL champions and, thanks to a Kerolin hat-trick plus further strikes from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Vivianne Miedema, put the visitors to the sword in a 5-1 triumph.
With Manchester United beating Liverpool earlier in the day, the Blues now sit 11 points clear at the top of the WSL after our 13th successive league win.
It was one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the season, and Jeglertz was impressed by how the team handled the big occasion to get the victory.
“Just watching the team, there’s of course an expectation of the players and everything we’ve done so far, but we came out and delivered,” he said.
“There’s so much confidence and trust in the team, they’re doing it with so much determination.
“They definitely [stood up to the test]. I’m so proud and impressed at the same time.
“Playing here is fantastic but it means something, people are expecting something so being able to deliver then is not easy.
“But they definitely did that. I’m very impressed and proud.”
