Andrée Jeglertz called for his players to savour the feeling of a dominant Manchester derby win at Old Trafford.

Our Head Coach was rightly ecstatic with his team’s performance, as a Vivianne Miedema brace and Kerstin Casparij strike sealed a 3-0 triumph.

The victory also completed a double over United in the WSL this season, moving City 11 points clear at the Barclays Women’s Super League summit.

After the full-time whistle, Jeglertz joined Matchday Live host Cel Spellman and former City forward Toni Duggan pitch side, providing key insight into what he made of his team’s performance.

And while there is still plenty of work to do, our Head Coach wants his players to revel in their excellent display against our rivals.

“First of all, enjoy the moment,” said Jeglertz when asked what his message is to the team for the final few weeks of the campaign.

“We need to do that. We’ve talked about that the whole time, no matter what – we talk about one game at a time – and that is how it is.

“But we also need to enjoy this. We are playing here, we have all our fans, we played a fantastic game, we’ve done an incredible season so far.

“We have three [league] games and a cup still to play in, but just enjoying this, now we have a couple of days off but when we are back everything is about Birmingham in the cup.”
