Andrée Jeglertz says his side have been thriving both on and off the pitch and explained why it's important for all the players to celebrate a goal.

City take on Renee Slegers’ side once again following an overwhelming 5-1 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

But, with another tough head-to-head around the corner in the WSL, there’s the chance to go 16 points clear of our fourth place opponents.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be hoping to capitalise on a 2-0 North London derby victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as well as being crowned FIFA Champions Cup winners.

After the win over Chelsea it was clear there is a real togetherness in Jeglertz’s side and he reiterated that in his press conference.

“Every time we scored, looking at the players coming to the warm up, you could see it’s a team who are enjoying playing football, together at the moment.

“When we celebrate the goal we aren’t just running to the goalscorer but also to the goalkeeper because Yama did a great action for one of Kerolin’s goals.

“That’s the one when Alex Greenwood is running towards her and celebrating with her.

“I think that shows something about enjoying every moment.”

Jeglertz also commented on how this breeds a winning formula.

“I think a team that likes to spend time with each other both on and off the field makes a team reliable and believing in each other,” he added.

“We had some successful years with Umea 100 years ago, I know it was a long time ago!

“And that was about the same kind of team.

“I think that was also the thing that got the team to perform and give everything for each other on the field, and that’s what we see in this group at the moment.”
