Head into the City dressing room to hear Andrée Jeglertz's final thoughts before our 2-1 win at London City Lionesses.

The Blues snatched a late victory in London to extend our lead at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League to nine points.

With closest rivals Chelsea losing to Arsenal the day before, City came into the tie hoping to take advantage ahead of this Sunday’s Etihad clash between the top two.

But the hosts had more than held their own in their debut WSL campaign, and were hoping to mark new manager Eder Maestre’s first home match in charge with a win of their own.

Things started brightly for City, with Kerolin slotting home inside 11 minutes to hand us an early lead.

But London City were far from out of the contest, with Ayaka Yamashita making an excellent save to deny Isobel Goodwin in a one-on-one, before the forward headed against the bar around ten minutes later.

The hosts’ pressure eventually told with 25 to play when Freya Godfrey fired into the roof of the net from a tight angle, and it looked like we’d have to settle for a point at Bromley.

With less than four minutes of normal time remaining, though, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw pounced from close-range for her 13th WSL goal of the season, and City’s 12th successive league win.

It was a gutsy display, with Jeglertz’s pre-match speech proving prophetic: “We will find a way to win. Trust the process”
