Andree Jeglertz says everyone at Manchester City is striving to get better every day.

The boss has presided over six straight wins since defeat to Chelsea in the season opener and has just been nominated for the WSL Manager of the Month award for the second time.

It has left City handily placed just one point behind defending champions Chelsea at the top of the WSL and in pole position after one game in the Subway League Cup.

How to follow Newcastle v City

It’s in the latter competition that we’ll play on Sunday, travelling to Newcastle United for a 14:00 (UK) start in our final game before an international break.

Reflecting on his nomination and the form of his team in recent weeks, Jeglertz was keen to point out that City can still improve.

“For the team, I still think the highest level is fantastic but I also think after each game we find things that we need to be better at.

“This is what fascinates me. You are never pleased as a coach. It’s driving the development.

“We are pleased with a lot of things we have done and we have come further than maybe I expected so far but we have more levels that we can try to achieve in the coming months.”
