Andrée Jeglertz’s side secured passage into the semi-finals following a battling 1-0 win over the WSL 2 leaders at St Andrew’s.
After an enthralling start to the cup tie, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw opened the scoring in the eighth minute when she latched onto Iman Beney’s pinpoint pass to poke into the net.
The Jamaican then hit the post later on in the first half before we carried our slender lead into the interval.
Following the break, both teams continued to give as good as they had, which produced a closely fought quarter-final, but Yui Hasegawa and Rebecca Knaak both saw attempts hit the crossbar.
Ultimately, though, City got the job done and set up a mouth-watering semi-final trip to Chelsea in May.
