On 24 January 2024, City celebrated an incredible ten years since our official relaunch as a professional outfit.
Steph Houghton and Jill Scott were two of the marquee signings who spearheaded that original side, with Demi Stokes joining ahead of the following campaign.
The trio have gone on to become some of the most decorated and important figures in the Club’s history, with Houghton and Stokes still a part of our current squad after Scott decided to call time on her career in the summer of 2022.

But their connection goes back further than their time at the Joie Stadium, with their first meeting coming in their native North East at Sunderland.
Reminiscing at Boxx to Boxx Coffee, a business which Jill co-owns with her partner, Shelly, the City legends roll back the years with anecdotes from their first few years in football through to our memorable 2016 title-winning campaign.
