Manchester City Women Managing Director Charlotte O’Neill believes the latest Manchester derby could potentially be the biggest so far.

Gareth Taylor’s side welcome Marc Skinner’s to the Etihad Stadium for the heavyweight Barclays Women’s Super League clash on Sunday 19 January at 18:45 (UK).

Only one point separates the Blues in second and our arch-rivals in fourth heading into the meeting as both teams look to mount serious title bids during the second half of the term.

It represents our second outing at the over 53,000-seaster stadium this term after impressively beating Spurs 4-0 there in November.

And O’Neill has encouraged supporters to flock to the Etihad later this month for a fantastic experience on and off the field.

“There is obviously a great rivalry between the two clubs, men’s and women’s, but this season it feels even more important in order for us to maintain that title charge for sure,” she explained.

“First and foremost, it’s going to be a great game.

“[Manchester] United are coming to try and beat us at home and we’re not only trying to beat United but [go on] to win the title.

“I’d say [to supporters] come to see unbelievable football, but you will also see a great event.

“We have so many activations going on. We do the blue carpet when the players arrive, it’s just a great experience so come and have a great time with us.”
