Chloe Kelly believes a good run in this year's Continental Cup can help City build on a positive start to the 2023/24 campaign.

Gareth Taylor‘s side have started the Barclays Women’s Super League campaign with victory at West Ham before a late equaliser denied us a home win over champions Chelsea, even after two City players were sent off.

Now we get our League Cup campaign under way on the road at Everton in 19:00 kick-off this evening. The match is available to watch live on CITY+.

It’s the start of a group stage that will also see us come up against Liverpool and Leicester City.

Having enjoyed a strong start, Kelly wants to keep the positive feeling going across all competitions.

“We’re pleased [with our form],” she said.

“Being back on the pitch with the girls and just enjoying our football. What we’re playing at the minute is really good but off the pitch we’re enjoying ourselves, that brings us together on the pitch.

“We have to keep pushing on in the league and the cup because the cup gives us momentum in the league too. When we get that momentum, no-one can get near us.

“It’s an opportunity to show what we can do again.”
