CITC participants from across Greater Manchester are invited to get involved in exclusive experiences such as being mascots, flag-bearers, and shadowing the Manchester City content team.
This year, CITC’s participants have once again been tasked with drawing Manchester City Women’s players to be used as matchday graphics.
City Primary Stars participants at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School have been this year’s artists.
On the day of the community matchday, the participants artwork will be brought to life through graphics used around the Joie Stadium, as well as across social media.
Each participant involved in the drawing session was also surprised with two tickets to the game, giving them the chance to see their artwork come to life.
City Primary Stars participant, Eliora, spoke about what it meant to her to be part of this year’s project, saying: “It has been really exciting because I love Manchester City and we have been able to draw our favourite players.”
“The most fun part is that our pictures are going to be on the big screen for people to see.”
Primary Schools Officer, Mark Donegan, led the session with the participants and described the importance of opportunities like this:
“This is a special and unique opportunity that allows our participants to really feel connected with Manchester City and feel like they are a part of the community matchday.”
The Premier League Primary Stars programme is delivered in City in the Community partner schools across Greater Manchester, engaging pupils and teachers to help primary school children stay active.
During the sessions, the coaches deliver national curriculum PE lessons, extra-curricular activities, targeted interventions, educational workshops and more.
With thanks to the Premier League for support with funding of the programme.
