City head to Old Trafford on Sunday, to face Manchester United with kick-off scheduled for 16:30 (UK).
With both sides determined to challenge for the Women’s Super League title, it’s already one of the biggest matches on the calendar.
But with the added spice that derby day brings, Coombs says facing United is always hotly anticipated.
“The Manchester derby is probably the first game in the season that we really look for,” she said.
“We want to put our stamp on it, it’s such a rivalry and it’s getting bigger every year. For us it’s so important that we go into it really fighting and we really want to win it for ourselves and our fans.”
United are currently third in the WSL with 12 points following three wins and three draws while City lie in sixth spot with 10 points after three wins, one draw and two defeats.
Aiming to bounce back from defeats away at Arsenal and at home to Brighton, Castellanos says it’s an opportunity to get back on track.
“Everything can happen but for us, this game is so important,” she added.
“It’s going to be a lovely game and it’s a derby and for us there’s nothing more exciting than playing against Manchester United.”
