Demi Stokes reflects on some of her Manchester City career highlights.

The defender agreed to a contract extension in June 2023, committing her future to the Club until the summer of 2024.

One of our longest serving players, Stokes’ new deal will see her feature at the Academy Stadium for a tenth campaign, with only our captain Steph Houghton able to better that number.

During her time at City, the 31-year-old has made 199 appearances, won seven major honours and twice been included in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s PFA Team of the Year.

While a combination of injuries and illness saw Demi limited to just nine appearances in all competitions in 2022/23, she remained a key figure both on and off the field, with her wealth of experience hugely significant for Gareth Taylor’s promising young squad.

In the above video, Stokes reflects on last season and expresses her excitement about what the team can potentially achieve in the coming years.

There are also discussions on those first few years at the Academy Stadium, from joining City in 2015 through to our league and cup double the following campaign, in which we also went the entire WSL season unbeaten.

Elsewhere, Demi opens up about the support she’s received from both her team-mates and the Club while juggling the demands of being a professional athlete and starting a family, something she did just before last summer’s European Championships.
