Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp discuss their personal journeys and inspirations in the first episode of Footballers and Founders.

The Club have launched an International Women’s Day collaboration with Buy Women Built to celebrate and inspire the next generation of female founded businesses and footballers.

As part of that campaign, Greenwood and Hemp joined founders Polly McMaster (The Fold) and Tajinder Banwait MBE (Urban Apothecary) for a candid and insightful discussion about their stories so far.

The quartet begin with their childhood ambitions, and things they’ve learned on the journey towards turning those into a reality.

Role models are essential to inspire anyone to achieve their dreams, with both Hemp and Greenwood citing their families as vital parts of their own personal growth.

The conversation then turns towards the importance of celebrating milestones, and how difficult it can be to take a step back and reflect on all they’ve achieved in their careers thus far.

“When women come together, I think we’re quite powerful if I’m being honest,” Greenwood adds.

“In any industry, I think we’re a powerful unit, and we always want women to do well.

“It doesn’t matter how big your dream is or how small, it’s about having the belief that you can achieve it.”
