City host Göteborg FC in the Round of 32 second leg on Wednesday (15:00 UK time), guarding a 2-1 advantage from the away tie in Sweden.

Having won the competition with Lyon last season, the defender knows exactly what it takes to conquer Europe and - along with City and England teammate, and fellow tournament winner Lucy Bronze - hopes to use her experience to aid her new Club’s challenge.

Greenwood says she would love nothing more than to lift the trophy with an English Club and says the prospect of playing a part in such success excites her.

“It’s not just these big games - I look at the bigger picture,” she said.

“Games like Wednesday are what it’s all about - why you play football.

“Winning the Champions League with Lyon was an experience but if I can do it in my own country with City, it will be even bigger than what we’ve done before.”

Greenwood also discussed her positional switch to centre-back, plus Bronze’s impact on the team, while manager Gareth Taylor also shared his thoughts on the Göteborg clash.
