Following the 3-0 loss to the reigning European champions at the Olympic Stadium, we were kept off the table’s summit on our head-to-head record with Pere Romeu’s side having finished on the same amount of points – 15.
It ended our 100% record in the competition in 2024/25 having won both of our qualification matches with Paris FC before victories over St Polten (two), Hammarby (two) and the Catalan giants in the reverse fixture.
And Taylor says we’ll take our learning from the defeat to Barcelona into the Champions League knockout stages.
“We know we can give this team [Barcelona] problems when we’re on the front foot and pressing in an effective manner. We just couldn’t get that right tonight,” he explained.
“You have to give credit to Barcelona, they’re a very good team, but we have to give credit to ourselves overall to be able to sit on the same points as them at the top of this group.
“The effort of the girls has been great to see tonight, and I think we’ll get better and improve, for sure.”
