Manager Gareth Taylor believes Bunny Shaw is in the perfect place at Manchester City to continue to thrive and ‘become the best version of herself she can be’.

The Jamaican international striker, who joined City from Bordeaux last summer, has enjoyed a fine debut campaign at the Academy Stadium.

A four-goal haul in last Saturday’s emphatic 7-2 win over Brighton took her overall tally for the season to 18, making her equal top scorer with Lauren Hemp.

And, addressing the media ahead of Wednesday’s penultimate FA Women’s Super League match at home to Birmingham, Taylor said he felt Shaw was poised to only continue to prosper at City.

“We’ve signed a player with huge talent, huge potential. She’s still a young player, in a different league this season, and she’s had a good season,” Taylor declared.

“To have someone to compete with and help her situation like Ellen White is amazing.

“There is a player there who has seen it, done it, got goals under her belt.

“The atmosphere and surroundings (here) are perfect for her to be the best version of herself she can be.”
