Gareth Taylor says City must put defeat against Chelsea behind us and aim to finish on a high before the international break.

The Blues were beaten for the first time in 2024/25 at Stamford Bridge with the hosts running out 2-0 winners in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

A battle between the league’s top two seemed destined to end all square until late goals from Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten handed Sonia Bompastor’s side all three points.

And while Taylor was disappointed with the result, he insisted attentions must turn to Hammarby on Thursday, with City looking to guarantee our place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout stages before a two-week break.

He said: “For sure, the league’s never won in November.

“We’ve been on an incredible run. We’re obviously disappointed not to extend that, but that’s football.

“We’ll be back to the drawing board and make sure we’re ready for the next game and the next WSL game after the international break.”
