Gareth Taylor says he has been grateful for Pep Guardiola's support and 'avid interest' in City's women's team.

The FA Women’s Cup holders have the chance to defend the trophy this Sunday, facing Everton at Wembley Stadium in the 50th edition of the tournament.

Previewing the clash, Taylor was asked whether he had received any pearls of wisdom from men’s team counterpart Pep Guardiola - and the 47-year-old replied he had.

“I speak to a lot of people,” he said. “I managed to speak to Pep a few weeks ago and the first thing he asked was: ‘When is the Final?’

“It’s great that he’s keeping an avid interest. He’s been hugely supportive, which is great, especially given their heavy schedule.

“That’s the beauty of City. It feels like a family with everyone behind us, supporting us and wanting us to do well.”

Taylor also shared his thoughts on the game, including opponents Everton - as did former Toffee Chloe Kelly.
