Having exited the FA Cup on Sunday and endured a tough start in the FA Women’s Super League, Taylor was asked whether the Conti Cup is now considered more of a priority, as City chase silverware.
The Head Coach agreed his side will be giving their all to regain the trophy but insisted his side have always held the tournament in high regard.
“People naturally pitch it at a certain level in terms of priorities but for me, it’s a chance to win a trophy,” he said.
“We’ve won it previously and it’s as difficult a trophy to win at the FA Cup.
“They changed the format a little bit with the penalty shoot-out rule, where you can earn an extra point, but it’s a good competition to be in.
“We want to go all the way, It’s important for us and we also have the other FA Cup this season.
“It’s a priority - it always is. Even if we were in a better standing (in the league and the FA Cup), it would still be important for us.”
