Georgia Stanway has urged her City teammates to take advantage of the 2019/20 FA Women's Cup resumption by retaining the trophy.

Gareth Taylor‘s side host Arsenal in the semi-finals on Thursday 1 October (7:15pm) at the Academy Stadium, hoping to make the most of home advantage as the holders lock horns with the competition’s most successful side.

Having lifted the trophy in May 2019, City stand as the current holders and Stanway says the squad are determined not to see another name on the prestigious trophy - the first of two on offer this season!

Previewing the clash, the forward says - no matter how many times you play there - the thrill of playing at Wembley never dampens and that she’d love nothing more than to score in another Final.

“It’s very exciting and as a footballer, there’s nothing better than knowing there’s a trophy at the end that you’re aiming for,” she said.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase who we are, what we do, how we play... and a good opportunity to finish off what we started.

“We’re excited to go out there and do the best we can. This week in training, we’ll put ourselves in the best possible position and we’re excited to get going.”
