Gareth Taylor says hosting women's games at Club's main stadiums provides a real boost for the sport.

City travel to Leicester City on Sunday in the FA Women’s Super League with the game taking place at the men’s King Power Stadium at 14:00 UK time.

With City having graced the Etihad Stadium in the past and opened this season’s league campaign at Everton’s Goodison Park, Taylor says the occasion helps to inspire the players.

“Everybody gets a lift when we have these fixtures played at main stadiums,” he said. “It’s great.

“It’s something I always enjoyed doing when I went to various stadiums. It’s a great stadium and it’s a lift for everyone.

“For any team in the WSL that hosts a game in their home stadium, it’s amazing.

“We’re slightly different as we have our ‘mini stadium’, which simulates the Etihad, but when we played Everton, it was a real boost to play at such a fantastic stadium like that.”
