City head into the 14:00 (UK time) game still searching for our first win of the campaign following defeats away to Aston Villa and Chelsea.
But the results, particularly in our most recent outing, have perhaps not been a fair representation of the team’s performance levels and Taylor is keen to put that right with three points this weekend.
He thinks City have a run of good matches now and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
In his pre-match press conference, he said: “We’ve got some good opposition ahead of us and a nice period of games before the next international break.
“The players have played more for international teams than us, but it’s a good period for us.
“It’s nice to be home. We’ve had two tough away games so it’s nice to be back in front of our supporters. I’m hoping for a good performance.
“We need to get wins on the board but I’m confident we will with the team we have.”
As Taylor mentioned, City are now back at the Academy Stadium after successive matches on the road, at Villa Park and Kingsmeadow.
The boss is confident home comforts will play a part this weekend.
On returning home, he added: “It’s great. Each manager and player will say the same that they enjoy playing at home.
“It’s that familiarity and the majority of the time it’s more supporters too.
“We’re looking forward to it. With the cup games, as well, it’s a decent run of home games. [They are] good games for us.”
