Taylor admires the way coach Matt Beard sets his team up and is more than aware of the quality needed to see off our WSL rivals in our second match in this competition, after getting the better of fellow Merseyside team, Everton, in our opening encounter.
“These games can be similar to Leicester who came out aggressive, you get minimal time on the ball,” Taylor told the media in his pre-match press conference.
“You need to hurt teams when they want to play aggressively and high up.
“We need to be mindful of where the spaces are and have players capable of punishing that type of play.
“It’s good for us because we won our first game, they didn’t so an opportunity for them to strike back.
“We’re looking forward to the challenge. We played them in pre-season so looking forward to it.
“Matt’s got a high level of experience at numerous clubs, good character and likes to be brave.
“They’re brave in the way they want to play and engage and put you under pressure. We need to be ready for that.”
