Gareth Taylor has promised that City will not show any signs of complacency against Ipswich Town this weekend.

We host the Premier League South leaders in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at the Joie Stadium at 13:00 on Sunday.

City were 10-0 victors in the last meeting between the sides back in February 2020 but our boss says that game or the two divisions separating the sides will not have an impact on his thinking before the game.

He also highlighted the joy that winning this competition can bring, after lifting the famous trophy in 2019/20.

“They’re the top team in the third tier,” he began.

“I have watched numerous games from them and saw them play against Bournemouth which was fairly tight in terms of the 1-0 scoreline.

“We won’t underestimate any team we play. The FA Cup is a magical competition and anyone who has won has won it, whether player or coach, has really cherished those moments.

“Even in this period of so much change the FA Cup has really retained its magic. When I was growing up, the FA Cup final was the biggest game of the season and the only one televised.”
