We welcome Melissa Phillips’ side to the Joie Stadium on Sunday 12 November at 13:00 (UK), with the match available to watch live on CITY+.
Heading into the meeting, City have won our last five clashes with the Sussex side – scoring 25 goals across them.
However, the boss stressed that nothing is a given in the division, with his team not underestimating a side who were seconds from picking up a famous win over Manchester United in their previous assignment.
And Taylor asserted his players must strive for excellence in the pursuit of WSL points.
“We never go into a game neglecting the opposition. We need to be good at the top end and in the defensive third,” he explained.
“Nothing changes in our approach, we have to earn it and know we’ll have periods where we’ll dominate but we have to be vigilant for the dangerous players they have in the team.
“[Brighton are] aggressive in moments, sometimes can sit off also like they did versus Chelsea and [Manchester] United.
“Mixed in what they did. They made it difficult for United and nearly held on for an impressive three points.
“New coach in there and new players, we know Vicky well and a few new signings and made a decent start to the season.
“It’s a good game for us to have and one we’re looking forward to on home soil.
“Of course it’s something that’s nice to have in terms of record but it doesn’t count for much.
“We have to go out and earn our stripes. We don’t rest on laurels, we make sure we’re highly competitive and ready to hopefully dominate as much as we possibly can.”
