The City forward is just three goals short of Kelly Smith’s all-time scoring record as the Lionesses head into World Cup qualifying fixtures against Northern Ireland and Latvia at the end of October.
Surpassing Smith’s tally of 46 international strikes would round off an already memorable month for White, who was also shortlisted for the 2021 Women’s Ballon d’Or at the end of last week.
And after grabbing a late equaliser in Saturday’s Manchester derby, the 32-year-old will have her sights set on continuing that scoring form when we face Everton in the Continental Cup group stages on Wednesday evening.
Asked about White’s chances of becoming England’s record scorer, Taylor said: “Without being too disparaging about the level of opposition she’ll face, last time she played (Northern) Ireland she scored a few.
“Ellen lives on scoring goals, and she came on and salvaged a point for us at the weekend.

“She’s been a real talisman for England and for us over the last couple of seasons and rightly so deserves her nomination on a European level as well.
“She’ll be looking at those two games and potentially thinking she can do it but there’ll be a degree of perspective with Ellen as well depending on the outcome of those games.
“I think it’s a matter of time before she does it.”
