Gareth Taylor says his belief in the City squad is unshaken, despite our recent run of difficult results.

City have lost three on the bounce, including Sunday’s heavy defeat away at Arsenal in the WSL and a Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid.

But with an FA Cup quarter-final tie at home to Leicester on Wednesday, Taylor’s side have an opportunity to bounce back immediately.

A growing injury list provides the boss with a major headache, but he says he is looking forward to the challenge of trying to get back to winning ways.

“We really believe in this group of players,” Taylor said as he addressed the media ahead of Wednesday’s game.

“We want to be successful in this competition; we are up against it with personnel we have but we fight to the end and make sure we give our very best and try to get through to the semi final.

“In a mad sort of way, I am actually enjoying this. It’s not a nice feeling but we have a siege mentality.

“There’s a lot of factors going against us, things we can and can’t control. But the fight and determination is there.

“The beauty is having game on Sunday and then another one straight after. It’s great.

“The last thing you want is no game for two weeks after a defeat We have games coming thick and fast and it’s something we are looking forward to.”
