Gareth Taylor described some of the football that his City side played in our 5-0 Champions League qualifying win over Paris FC as ‘fabulous’.

The Blues take a commanding advantage back to the Joie Stadium for next Thursday’s second leg, available to watch live on CITY+, knowing we’re within touching distance of the Group Stages.

A Jess Park brace, debut goal for Vivianne Miedema, Mary Fowler strike and late Chloe Kelly effort capped off an imperious display in the French capital.

For the boss, that first strike from Miedema just after the half hour was crucial in helping City settle into our usual groove.

Taylor said: “Once we scored the first goal, the confidence was there throughout the team, and we dominated. I thought there was some fabulous football tonight.

“We had some moments beforehand and they had some breakaways but once we got that goal we really settled and within a couple of minutes, there’s the second from Jess where the combination was top.

“It was a really good performance from us and we’ve been rewarded with the result. This isn’t an easy place to come, but it’s a good victory for us and we’re looking forward to what’s next.”
