Gareth Taylor is looking for a swift response from his players following our FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea at the Academy Stadium.

The visitors ran out 3-0 winners on Sunday afternoon to bring an end to our hopes of a third successive crown in the competition.

It was a frustrating day at the office for Taylor’s side, but he insists that we must take the rough with the smooth in order to move forward in our pursuit of the Women’s Super League and Continental Cup.

Indeed, the City boss highlighted our busy fixture period as an opportunity to bounce back at the first time of asking, starting with Durham’s visit to the Academy Stadium on Thursday evening.

He said: “This is football, it’s always about ups and downs whether you’re a player or a coach and it’s how you deal with those.

“We’re in a period now where we’ve got games thick and fast up until the next international break so it’s good in that respect.

“We look forward to the next one and keep working as hard as we possibly can.
