Gareth Taylor says City’s fine 3-1 Barclays Women’s Super League victory over Manchester United will give his side ‘big confidence’.

In front of 40,086 supporters at the Etihad Stadium, goals from Jess Park (two) and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw secured our 11th straight league victory and third over Marc Skinner’s side in 2023/24.

It means we currently sit at the division’s summit with five matches remaining this term – albeit having played a game extra than second-placed Chelsea.

Regardless, the boss believes the manner of the result will breed positivity within a fierce title race.

“An amazing result and a great day,” he declared.

“When we come here, it seems to get better and better the experience. It gives us big confidence.

“I said to some of the players at half-time, I didn’t think we were that good in the first half. We started the game quite well but if we trust what we do then you see really good things.

“I felt the first half an hour of the second half we were excellent. The goal gives us big confidence.

“With Bunny getting it – a good ball from Jess. She drives and slides and Bunny does what she does best. It’s not an easy finish because she’s under a lot of pressure there.

“I was so proud of the second half [especially] the first half an hour.”
