Gareth Taylor has hailed the collective contribution of his players to City's first Barclays Women's Super League win of the season.

City put on a convincing display in our first home match of the new campaign, with three second half goals helping us to a 4-0 triumph over Leicester.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw grabbed a brace either side of Lauren Hemp‘s powerful header with 20 to play, before Yui Hasegawa marked her debut with a spectacular late strike.

And Taylor felt that every member of the team played their part in what was an important victory for his side.

“[I was] really pleased. The level of performance was really good”, he said.

“We scored some good goals today, we probably kept them hanging on a little longer than we wanted to, we just needed that final bit of quality and hit the bar twice in the first half.

“But in terms of what I asked of the players, they really produced that today.

“The whole team contributed, whether players got on the pitch or not, it was a real team effort.”
