Gareth Taylor says City will stick together and look to bounce back as quickly as possible following our 4-2 defeat to Manchester United.

It was the visitors who started the stronger, with City quickly finding ourselves 2-0 down after Ella Toone and Leah Galton fired United ahead inside the opening 21 minutes, before the former added a third.

We showed real tenacity as the interval approached though, and two quick headed goals - by Vivianne Miedema and Rebecca Knaak - saw the teams head down the tunnel with only one goal to separate them.

But Toone completed her hat-trick inside the opening minute of the second half and United were then able to hold out for all three points.

Despite the setback, Taylor is confident that we’ll bounce back quickly, starting with our League Cup trip to United on Wednesday.

“We are all upset,” began Taylor.

“But we stick together and we keep working because we know we can execute better than that.

“It’s good we’ve got games coming thick and fast. Of course when you have that sort of result tonight the best thing is to be able to bounce back as quick as you possibly can.”
