Gareth Taylor believes our 1-0 triumph away to West Ham puts City 'back amongst' the Barclays Women's Super League title race.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s ninth league goal of the season proved the difference in a keenly fought contest at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

With Arsenal and Chelsea playing out a 1-1 draw earlier in the day, victory moves City back to within three points of the Gunners and six points off the summit with a game in hand.

For Taylor, seeing out the win against a resolute Hammers side has ensured his team are firmly in the title conversation as the season begins to take shape.

“[I’m] really pleased. I think it was a tough match, we knew it would be,” he reflected.

“It was good to get the win because you’re never too sure how the players are going to respond after not having a game for a month.

“But it was really important after the result between Arsenal and Chelsea. It gets us right back amongst it.

“There’s things to work on for sure but I think there were some decent performances in there and a different type of fight needed.”
