City lock horns with Chelsea in Sunday’s Wembley showpiece, with a record crowd of over 50,000 anticipated.
It is the second final that Taylor has guided City to in his two seasons at the helm, with our most recent FA Cup triumph coming courtesy of a 3-1 extra-time win over Everton in November 2020.
And while the boss looks back fondly on our previous victory, which was played behind closed doors as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, he is relishing the opportunity for City to showcase our talents in front of a bumper crowd.
“(It will be) amazing and if that’s the case, it breaks the record which is outstanding and shows the game is moving in the right direction.
“We played the final (against Everton) with no supporters, so this will be amazing.
“The atmosphere will be great and special for both teams to celebrate that with supporters and families as well.
“Sometimes as a coach you think the finals will come round all the time, I remember wishing my family and friends and brilliant supporters were there (in 2020).
“It felt great but also empty in the stadium, you couldn’t celebrate it with those you care about and who care about you.
“Fortunately, we’re back in that situation, and it changes everything.
“It’s two great teams going at it, slugging it out and two teams who’ve shown quality this season.”
