Gareth Taylor believes City are in a strong place to attack the second half of season.

After opening the campaign with two narrow victories, we’ve embarked on an outstanding 11-game unbeaten run in all competitions – including 10 wins.

Such form has seen us climb back into Barclays Women’s Super League title contention, while handing us the perfect start in our defence of the Continental Cup.

The latest success in this incredible set of results came in last Sunday’s 1-0 victory over West Ham United - as we strongly returned to action following the winter break.

And with fixtures now coming thick and fast, Taylor believes his players are ready for the task at hand – beginning with a trip to Leicester in the League Cup on Wednesday.

“It takes that little bit of time getting used to new teammates and new staff,” he explained.

“We feel really comfortable and I think it was important getting the win against West Ham on the weekend because, obviously, being a month before we played previously we’re not sure how that period will go.

“Players have come back and looked really fit, we have good competition levels in the team. Looking forward to the game tomorrow night, we have put ourselves in a good position in the league and two cup competitions albeit the FA Cup hasn’t started.

“I think it’s good for us and we’re in a good place to attack the second half of the season.”
