City take on Real Madrid on Sunday evening, with a spot in the final round of UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying up for grabs.
A 6-0 win over WFC Tomiris-Turan on Thursday evening was the perfect start to the campaign but, against a side who got the better of us in last season’s competition, Taylor says we’ll need to be at our best to reach the next round.
Nonetheless, he also insists that City are a match for any opponent when we truly hit our stride.
“By doing what we do really well,” the boss responded when asked how City could overcome Las Blancas.
“They have some decent players and a threat, but when you look at what we have and if we take care of what we do and get the details right we’re a match for anyone.
“Both teams will be aware of the threats. Madrid will look at what we do well and us with them.
“We’re aware of the strengths but it’s what we do and how we impact the game [that will decide the result].
“We need to be aware of their strengths, but make sure we do what we do which will in turn nullify those threats.”
