City were narrowly edged out 1-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s Perth International Cup final despite dominating much of the match.
That result brings an end to a highly productive fortnight in Australia for Taylor’s squad.
With a Champions League qualifier against an as yet unidentified team to come in two and a half weeks and the start of the Barclays Women’s Super League that following weekend, our competitive campaign is just around the corner.
City 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain | Match report
As City head home, Taylor knows what his team must do to reach the start line in peak condition.
“We have to keep working, working towards our goals, here and on the training pitches at the CFA. We’re really looking forward to getting going,” he stated.
Of the 15,091 at HBF Park in Perth on Sunday, there was overwhelmingly more support in favour of City.
That comes after a couple of weeks that has seen City attract fans from all over Australia for events in central Perth.
Taylor is delighted with the support the Club have received.
“It’s been amazing,” he said.
“We’ve had really good support and they’ve really got behind the team. We had good numbers here today in a double header game.
“We’re really pleased they came out to support us and it’s always good to hear the City fans.”
