Gareth Taylor says Keira Walsh is a 'really important' piece to his City side after she appeared in her 200th match for the Club.

City secured an all important 2-0 victory against Reading under the lights at the Academy Stadium on Wednesday night, after a much more clinical second half performance.

Demi Stokes opened the scoring, before Lauren Hemp confirmed the win with a rebounded shot from an Ellen White hit.

But the spotlight was on Walsh, as she completed a milestone achievement of earning 200 Club appearances in all competitions.

And, appearing before the media at his post-match press conference after the victory against Reading, the City boss was full of admiration for Walsh on her night of celebration.

“Really important, great achievement,” Taylor expressed.

“I mean 100 appearances for Lucy [Bronze] which we presented is good but I think Keira with 200 is some going in a 22 game season.

“It’s some appearance tally for the Club especially as she’s only 24.

“She’s really key for what we’re trying to do, she’s in a key position for our team, I think she’ll enjoy the way we play because she’ll be a real focal point.

“It’s a good target for her to hit.”
